GENERAL DUTIES
Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise as noted below.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Department of Communication Studies at Baruch College, the City University of New York, seeks applicants for a full time lecturer position to begin in fall, 2010. This position is a one year appointment, potentially renewable on re-appointment for five years with the possibility of appointment to a permanent position (Certificate of Continuous Employment) at the end of that period. Baruch College, located in midtown Manhattan, is a senior college of the City University of New York, and is recognized as the most diverse college in the nation. The Department of Communication Studies offers a B.A. in Business Communication, with a specialization in Corporate Communication, and an M.A. in Corporate Communication. The department fields a wide range of courses, including speech communication, argumentation, persuasion, intercultural communication, interpersonal communication, international communication, media studies, crisis communication, legal and ethical issues in corporate communication, writing for public relations and corporate media relations. Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree area(s) of expertise and other qualifications noted below as being necessary for satisfactory performance of job duties. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a graduate level degree in communication or a related area and considerable teaching experience in communication studies, and should demonstrate expertise in at least two of the following areas of specialization: public relations, new media, business communication, corporate or organizational communication. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to our undergraduate and graduate programs in Corporate Communication, as well as to a minor in Communication Studies.
