Marshall University is a vibrant and growing multi-campus, public university. The University supports a rich cultural environment with the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts center, which provides a 530-seat facility for performances in the fields of music, art, and theatre, and the $2.6 million Jomie Jazz Center.

The Huntington, West Virginia, area is surrounded by natural beauty being located on the Ohio River in the Huntington-Ashland WV-KY-OH Metropolitan Area. The state is known for its mountains and diverse topography, which provide a wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities, such as skiing, whitewater rafting, fishing, recreational caving and hiking. Pharmaceutical Science and Research faculty in the Marshall University School of Pharmacy will be supported with individual laboratory space, startup funds, and access to AAALAC-accredited animal facilities.

Broad-based support and infrastructure with excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations include: the College of Science with departments of Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and Integrated Science and Technology; the College of Information Technology and Engineering; the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine; the College of Health Professions; the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program; the Cabell Huntington Hospital with the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center; St. Mary’s Medical Center with the CyberKnife® Center; the top-ranked Forensic Science Center; and the adjoining Huntington VA Medical Center.

Marshall University School of Pharmacy is offering an ACPE accredited PharmD degree and maintaining a unique, interdisciplinary, team-based academic community for which combines the resources of a top tier University with Allied Health Programs through the College of Health Professions and the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The Department is in the process of starting a M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences program from fall 2017 and currently supporting a PhD student in collaboration with Biomedical Sciences in the area of Pharmacology. As a member of our team, you will help create the future of pharmacy education in both Doctor of Pharmacy and graduate in pharmaceutical sciences level by contributing to the development of innovative, learner-centered curriculums that recognize the changing role of the pharmacist in health care…and you will be able to do this in a state-of-the-art 76,000 square foot learning, research, and pharmacy practice facility.
