Faculty position in Classics (3-year term)

About the position:
Classics (3-year term): The successful candidate should be able to offer courses in introductory and upper-level Latin and Greek. The successful candidate should also be prepared to offer classes in classical mythology, the ancient world (history, philosophy and literature), and an introductory class of the applicant’s choice, aimed at a general student population. A commitment to building a strong program in classics is a necessity.
We seek and support demonstrated commitment to scholarship, as well as clear enthusiasm for teaching undergraduates in both departmental and general education courses. Ph.D. in hand by August 2010 preferred.
Teaching load: Twelve hours per semester. We will conduct personal interviews at the APA meetings in Anaheim, CA in January, 2010. (Dr. Maria C. André, department chairperson, andre@hope.edu) Application deadline: December 1, 2009.

RANK AND SALARY: Tenure track with rank open, unless specified. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Terminal degrees are required for all positions unless otherwise noted.
