The Department of Social Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in Urban Geography. The position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence July 1, 2010. Candidates whose research examines major aspects of urban geography in the global south are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach large introductory (first or second year) and senior undergraduate (third or fourth year) courses on urban geography in the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Graduate Department of Geography, University of Toronto, will be expected to teach in a graduate program at the downtown campus, and will be expected to develop an independently funded program of research.
The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to participate in developing new graduate programs at Scarborough. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Candidates must have a PhD by the time of appointment, or be very close to completion and must demonstrate excellence in teaching and research.
