Saint Mary's College

U.S. Women’s History/Women’s Studies. The Department of History and the Program in Women’s Studies at Saint Mary’s College invite applications for a tenure track, joint appointment in U.S. Women’s History and Women’s Studies.


Job Requirements

We seek a U.S. history, women’s history teacher/scholar with a Ph.D. in History and a specialization in Latina history. Specialization in the early period is desirable, but not necessary. The successful candidate will also hold a graduate certificate or its equivalent in Women’s Studies, as this is a joint appointment with Women’s Studies.

Teaching responsibilities include the United States history survey, the introductory women’s studies course, and upper-level courses in U.S. women’s history. An ability to develop courses for the women’s history concentration in the History Department that will cross list with the Women’s Studies Program is necessary. Saint Mary’s College is in the process of establishing a Program in Latino/Latina Studies, and the successful candidate would be expected to play a leading role in the program.

Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching and have the Ph.D. by August 2010.
