Research Department of Bank of Estonia is seeking a faculty or post-doctoral level economist to work as a visiting researcher for 2-6 months in the year 2010.
Visiting researcher is obliged to carry out research in one of the following areas:
1. Monetary policy;
2. Financial sector;
3. Fiscal Policy;
4. The Flexibility of Labor and product Markets;
5. Sustainability of Current Account/Foreign Debt;
6. Developing Forecasting and/or General Equilibrium Models.
POSITION
Visiting researcher will be signed a contract for 2-6 months with the possibility for further extension. The visiting researcher is expected to conduct his/her research based on the mutually agreed research plan. The research papers will be published in the Working Paper Series of Bank of Estonia. It is presumed that the visiting researcher will give seminars on his/her research to economists of the Bank and actively take part in the regular discussions held in the department.
Visiting researchers are remunerated according to their agreed upon employment contracts. The remuneration of the researcher depends on his/her experience and academic reputation.

1) brief research proposal including:
a) the topic of the research and research plan;
b) description of the research problems with expected results;
c) brief overview of the theoretical background of th research;
d) research methods to be used;
e) expected research results and policy conclusions.
2) the beginning and possible duration of the assignment in Eesti Pank
3)CV specifying the candidate´s academic background as well as experience in research
4) two letters of support
5) preferably a recent paper (unspecified topics).
