Students in Need Group (SING) Program Manager
Olympic College Student Services
POSITION:
Olympic College (OC) is recruiting to fill a 50% full-time temporary position. This management level position is designed to identify financial and support barriers and serve as a safety net for students in need. The SING Program will serve as a one-stop, safe and welcoming information and resource center. Services will include direct assistance with applications, access and referral to internal resources and will develop knowledge and build relationships to facilitated referral and access to community resources.
SALARY: $44,500/annual for full-time; $22,250 for 50% full-time; with benefits
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a welcoming and safe service to assist and support students in need by helping them learn about and access resources;
- Obtain and provide information about internal resources and programs (e.g., Financial Aid, Opportunity Grant, Worker Retrain, WorkFirst, OC Foundation, etc.) to assist students in need;
- Obtain and provide information about community resources and services (e.g., Kitsap Community Resources, local food banks, Kitsap County Health District, WorkSource, emergency and transitional housing, etc.) to refer students who are in need who would benefit from those services;
- Assist students through services and processes and guide them to community resources;
- Develop close working relationships with key representatives from local community resources;
- Collaborate with Olympic College services and programs to identify and provide optimum support for students in need;
- Serve as liaison to the Associated Students of Olympic College (ASOC) food bank and other ASOC activities that support students in need;
- Support and coordinate activities of the Students in Need Group (SING);
- Coordinate information for posting on the SING website;
- Provide education to Olympic College administrators, faculty, and staff about local community resource businesses and their capabilities;
- Collect, analyze, and communicate data and research information about students’ experiences with financial and other resource barriers;
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree and two years experience as a community resource provider or equivalent OR related Bachelor’s degree and one year experience as a community resource provider or equivalent.
- Proficiency in office practices and procedures, standard desktop computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, calendaring, and email software required.
- Knowledge of enrollment management principles and methods in a higher education setting desired.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- This is a 50% of full-time position ending on September 30, 2010, unless funding is renewed.
- Official college transcripts required if hired.
- Must pass a criminal background records check.
- If you are hired, you will need to provide proof of identity and documentation of U.S. citizenship or appropriate authorization to work in this position as required by the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1986.
