Mathematics Education (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). The position involves research in mathematics education, teaching undergraduate as well as graduate courses in mathematics education, and the opportunity for program leadership.
Literacy and Language Education (Assistant Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to teach and provide leadership for undergraduate and graduate literacy courses in the Elementary Teacher Education Program
Mathematics Education: A doctorate in mathematics education or related field is required; graduate level study in mathematics and a focus on elementary mathematics is preferred. We seek to attract a mathematics educator who will play a major role in developing innovative programs and projects in conjunction with the College of Education, the College of Science, the Center for Research and Engagement in Science and Mathematics Education (CRESME), the I-STEM Resource Network, and the Discovery Learning Research Center. The qualified applicant must demonstrate or exhibit the potential to have a distinguished record of research in mathematics education to add to a multi-talented community of faculty members who are familiar with a variety of disciplinary perspectives, educational settings, and cutting-edge research.
Literacy and Language Education:
An earned doctorate in Literacy Education with a concentration in elementary reading instruction is preferred. Other relevant disciplines will be considered. Successful K-12 classroom teaching experience, demonstrated ability or potential to obtain external funding for research and/or engagement activities is required.
Preference will be given to individuals who focus on one or more of the following: multiple literacies, writing instruction, content area literacy, and diverse learners. Other desired qualifications include evidence of an ability to work collaboratively, demonstrated teaching effectiveness, and successful participation in university/public school partnerships. Candidates with experience working with diverse learners are encouraged to apply.
