Financial Aid Coordinator
Ohio University-Zanesville

The Financial Aid Coordinator provides general and specific financial aid support to Zanesville Campus students, parents, and prospective students on all state, federal, and University student aid programs; including the processes to obtain loans, grants and scholarships. The position assists students in completing verification forms, change of income forms and in monitoring satisfactory academic progress. The position participates on the OUZ Scholarship Selection Committee.

A primary function is problem-solving involving a high degree of technical and human relations skills to provide friendly and quality customer service that can assure customer satisfaction. In addition to serving as a liaison with the Athens Financial Aid Office, the position conducts financial aid presentations to high schools in the OUZ service area, keeps current on regulations and guidelines that govern Title IV programs, state, grants, private and institutional funds.

This position is a member of the Student Services team; participating in all departmental activities including new student orientation, special programs, the recognition ceremony and University committees. The position assist with supervising student assistants, and works collaboratively with Budget Manager and Director of Student Services to create the annual department budget.

We seek a candidate with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience working in a higher education institution. This position demands a solid base of accounting knowledge. Proficiency with PC software is required. Proven written communication skills are essential, as well as, interpersonal and verbal counseling communication skills.

Master's degree and direct experience in the delivery of need-based assistance (all Title IV federal student aid programs and state assistance) including merit-based assistance (private and institutional funds)preferred.
