The Coordinator, NevadaFIT is responsible for planning, coordinating, leading, and implementing the centralized activities of the university-wide NevadaFIT program. NevadaFIT is a six-day academic program designed to increase success for incoming freshmen by offering a glimpse into the University’s rigorous academic expectations and college life. The program has existed since 2014 and has grown in size and complexity such that it now requires year-round full-time coordination. The Coordinator will report directly to the University’s Executive Vice President & Provost. In addition to overall responsibility for program coordination and leadership, the position will be the main University contact and spokesperson for the NevadaFIT program. The incumbent will also oversee the preparation and dissemination of communications and advertising related to the program; manage the program budget; and train and supervise assigned employees and volunteers.

Within less than an hour drive you will find several famous winter sports resorts (such as Squaw Valley, the host of the 1960 Winter Olympic Games) and hundreds of mountain biking and hiking trails (including the 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail) for your enjoyment during the winter and summer months. The region offers an array of festivals and cultural activities including museums and performing arts centers. Additionally, the area attracts world class entertainers.

- Bachelor’s Degree and two years of relevant work experience OR Master’s Degree and one year of relevant work experience.
Relevant Experience: organizing and overseeing a large (500+ participants) program or event; coordinating the work of multiple offices and employees; working with students in an educational setting.
This position requires Local, State, and Regional Travel (travel outside of the local area may require overnight stays) and variable hours (includes occasional nights and weekends and extended hours during the month of August).
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with a wide variety of staff and professionals.
- Knowledge and experience preparing and delivering a variety of oral and written communications.
