As the Chief of Academic Officer of the College, the Dean for Academic Affairs reports directly to the President and serves as a senior member of the President's Cabinet.
Provides vision, leadership, and management for the academic activities of the College, including faculty, program development and assessment, the allocation of resources to support the academic programs, and student success. The Dean is responsible for both long-range and ongoing strategic activities to continuously improve the academics activities of the College.

Based in Roanoke, Va., Carilion Clinic includes multi-specialty physician practices, seven not-for-profit hospitals and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute in partnership with Virginia Tech.

Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: Graduate degree in field related to responsibility area. Earned doctoral degree in health or education-related field from regionally accredited college.
Experience: Eligible for faculty appointment at rank of professor with demonstrated experience leading an academic department, school or college with multiple programs and a significant number of faculty.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: None required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective team leadership, integrity, interpersonal and communication skills, creative and flexible problem-solving, and commitment to student, faculty and staff development. Demonstrated ability to manage fiscal and personnel resources, ensure accountability of those supervised and to think strategically and proactively. Excellent oral, written skills, computer literacy. Knowledge of current practices and theories with all aspects of responsibility areas.
