The Department of Biological Sciences at Idaho State University has openings for 2 full-time tenure-track faculty positions in Microbiology at the level of Assistant Professor.
Candidates with research and teaching interests in the biomedical applications of microbiology, such as virology, immunology, pathogenic microbiology and the microbiome are especially encouraged to apply.
The Department of Biological Sciences at Idaho State University offers undergraduate (B.S.) and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) degrees in Microbiology and a B.S. in Biochemistry as well as BS, MS, and doctoral degrees in Biology. The Department of Biological Sciences has a balanced approach to teaching and research, and seeks colleagues who will strengthen the biomedical sciences mission of the department by contributing significantly to the growth of the Ph.D. in Microbiology and the continued excellence of the M.S. in Microbiology and provide effective teaching to pre-health professional undergraduates.
The successful candidates are expected to develop extramurally funded research programs with a biomedical science focus, teach in the Microbiology and Biology undergraduate and graduate degree programs; and provide professional and university service.
Candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests and goals, representative publications (no more than 3 reprints), a statement of teaching philosophy that includes a description of potential undergraduate and graduate courses, and contact information for three professional references.
