Director, Purchasing and Auxiliary Services

The Director, Purchasing and Auxiliary Services position is a full-time administrative position.
The Director will be responsible for directing the centralized purchasing operations for the College, as well as supervision of vending, and district wide receiving/distribution operations. Additionally, the Director will plan, develop, and maintain purchasing policies and procedures, approve purchase orders, prepare and conduct bid specifications, formal bids and hearings, provide comprehensive leadership for the department, support the vision that advances the role of the department, supervise purchasing and receiving staff, and be engaged in and accountable for assigned projects and initiatives.
This position reports to the Vice President, Business Affairs.
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in business or related field, and four years’ professional experience in the buying and/or purchasing or related field, in a computerized purchasing system are required. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
Prefer experience in an educational or governmental purchasing system.
$48,000.00 - $55,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable. However, the college does not generally hire at the top of the range.)
