Assistant Professor of Consumer Economics and Personal Finance

The College of Agriculture at the University of Kentucky is currently seeking an Assistant Professor within its department of Family Sciences. This is a twelve-month, tenure-track position in the regular title series. The candidate will teach 3-4 courses per year. The anticipated distribution of effort is approximately 40% teaching, 50% research, and 10% service.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in consumer economics, personal finance, and financial counseling. Additionally, a successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a nationally recognized program of research that includes external funding and publish results in peer-reviewed journals; supervise theses and dissertations; participate in departmental and collegiate governance and professional organizations. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a new major in Consumer Economics and Personal Finance (CEFP).
Family Sciences is a student-centered department that is one of three units in the School of Human Environmental Sciences within the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment at the University of Kentucky. There are approximately 150 undergraduates, 20 M.S. students and 20 Ph.D. students. Additional information can be found at http:// http://fam-hes.ca.uky.edu.
Qualified applicants must, by start date, have an earned Ph.D. in human development and family sciences or closely related field, with expertise in consumer economics, family finance, and financial counseling.
Candidate should have the AFC® designation, through AFCPE, or be willing to obtain the AFC® designation.
Undergraduate and graduate teaching experience and grant-writing experience are preferred.
