Assistant Professor, Mental Health Law & Policy

Full-time, 9-month tenure track faculty appointment, contingent upon funding and Level I background check.
The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., J.D., Dr.PH.) by the time of faculty appointment and have a demonstrated record of research in areas consistent with the mission of MHLP.
These include a strong publication record related to the foci of this position, demonstrated success or potential in obtaining external funding related to behavioral health services research, evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a record of collaborative work with both academic and community partners.
A strong background in research methods and/or statistics is desired, along with experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
The successful candidate is expected to have, or to demonstrate the potential for, an independent program of research focused on public sector behavioral health services, with research foci in one or more of the following areas:
- Mental health services and policy
- Substance abuse and co-occurring disorders
- Veterans’ behavioral health
- Trauma-informed care
- Behavioral health issues within the adult and/or juvenile justice systems
- Forensic mental health
- Underrepresented populations and disparities in behavioral health services
