Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) seeks a visionary and accomplished academic and administrative leader as the Chair of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE). The next ECE Chair will report to the Dean of the Schaefer School of Engineering and Science and work closely with the leadership team of the University as the Institute continues to increase its impact and to fulfill its vision of being a world-class, student-centric research university. Qualified individuals will also be considered for an endowed chair position within SES. The Endowed Chair is expected to have a record of exemplary research, demonstrated leadership with building and managing a significant research enterprise, commitment to excellence in teaching, and a vision that will position the ECE Department prominently at the international stage.
ECE is one of the eight departments in the SES and plays a critical role in the success of the entire university. ECE maintains a rigorous commitment to preparing the next generation of technology leaders by offering a multi-disciplinary, design-based education taught by close to 20 full-time faculty members with an intensive curriculum for its 350 undergraduate students and 350 graduate students. With three masterís programs and a vibrant doctoral program in electrical engineering and computer engineering, the department also offers 10 graduate certificates in diverse areas of special study. The ECE Department is dedicated to supporting hands-on learning, research, and technology transfer that provides each student with invaluable, experiential knowledge.

- An earned doctorate and a record of distinguished scholarship and teaching appropriate for appointment as a tenured full professor.
- An excellent command of the English language.
Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in Electrical or Computer Engineering and an exemplary record of scholarly activities in a relevant field. In addition, experience is required to demonstrate successful academic administration, research, and graduate and undergraduate teaching.
