Salary: $54,814 - $88,193 annually
The Compton Community College District is seeking an innovative individual whose focus is student learning for a full time tenure-track position teaching American Sign Language courses. Duties also includes participation in a variety of campus and divisional activities such as faculty meetings, committee work, student activities, office hours, and curriculum/instructional development. Assignment may include teaching courses during day and evening hours including weekends. Selected candidates will be invited for an interview, which will include a teaching demonstration on an assigned topic.
Any Bachelor’s degree and 2 years professional experience; OR
Any Associate’s degree and 6 years professional experience; OR
The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above must complete the
supplemental page of the district application and explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above;
Valid California Community College Credential in appropriate subject.
Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds of college students.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full time, tenure-track teaching position effective August 23, 2018. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), transcripts, fingerprint results, and tuberculosis examination as required. Candidates selected for employment will be required to provide verification of work authorization in the form of a passport, valid driver's license, or other equivalent identification, and social security card.
The starting salary ranges from $54,814 - $88,193 annually, depending on education and experience. Excellent fringe benefits are included
