Salary: $54,814 - $88,193 annually
The Compton Community College District is seeking an innovative individual whose focus is student learning for a full time tenure-track position teaching Automotive Technology courses. Responsibilities typically include fifteen to sixteen lecture/lab hours teaching per semester; additionally, faculty are responsible for professional activities such as office hours, faculty meetings, program planning and review, SLO development and assessment, student activities, preparation/research, peer evaluations, and curriculum/instructional development. Commitment to consistent participation on department, division, and college committees and to ongoing professional development is expected. In addition, responsibilities will include working with division chair and dean to coordinate studio use, ordering supplies, and identifying equipment needs.
The starting salary ranges from $54,814 - $88,193 annually, depending on education and experience. Excellent fringe benefits are included
Any bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience; OR any associate degree and six years of professional experience; OR the equivalent. Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above must complete the supplemental page of the district application and explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; OR possess a valid California Community Colleges instructor credential in appropriate subject issued prior to July 1, 1990 (per California Education Code 87355); AND have sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full time, tenure-track teaching position effective August 23, 2018.
