Dean of Student Success and Enrollme

DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the President, the Dean of Student Success and Enrollment provides both strategic and operational management the collegeís key enrollment functions including direct management of the Admissions, Advising, Registration, Marketing and Communications offices, as well as Institutional Research.

The position is responsible for developing and implementing effective student connection, preparation and support strategies that result in measurable advances in new and continuing student enrollment and student success. The position requires strong skills in accountability, collaboration and prioritization.

This positon will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of Advising Office and student success services, personnel, budgets, initiatives and programs.
  • Provide strategic leadership and management of Registration and Admissions Office services, personnel, budgets and initiatives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and management of Marketing and Communications services, personnel, budgets, contracts, publications, communications and initiatives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and management of Institutional Research services, budgets and staff, including: review of required federal, state and system reporting, strategic planning evaluation and effectiveness, program and institutional evaluation, and college data communication and coordination.
  • Develop, submit and manage grant applications and programming that generate college resources and support improved student success outcomes.
  • Participate in Executive Team, Management Team, the Achieving the Dream and Governance meetings and lead the Student Success Steering Committee.
  • Serve as a liaison for the President communicating to and working with elected officials.
  • Perform other duties and initiatives as assigned by the President.

Job Requirements


Required: Masterís degree. Six or more years of progressive responsibility providing strategic leadership and direct responsibility for managing personnel and budgets at an accredited institution of higher education or closely aligned organization.

Desired: Doctorate degree. Experience designing and managing successful large-scale interventions that successfully student success rates for underserved student populations. Teaching and/or curriculum design of college-level student success coursework.


Five years of:

  • Demonstrated decision-making, communication and leadership skills and experience managing complex personnel, budgets, projects and assessments
  • Research and analytical skills and experience with program assessment and effectiveness
  • Knowledge of higher educational trends and emerging and evolving best practices and metrics in student success
  • Well-established collaboration, group facilitation, and communication skill
