Assistant Professor of Middle Childhood Education, tenure-track
The Ohio University Lancaster Campus is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Middle Childhood Education to begin August 15, 2018. The chosen applicant will be expected to maintain a successful record in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service (including advising and recruiting) commensurate with a tenure-track position. Teaching load is 24 semester hours or equivalent per academic year in Middle Childhood Education courses including introductory and foundational courses, curriculum development course, and courses that make up the Middle Childhood Education Reading Core and Middle Childhood Methods courses.
Teaching via distance learning technology will be required for some classes. In addition to teaching load, the chosen applicant will be responsible for leading the Middle Childhood Program including keeping up with the program requirements, program accreditation, student advising and recruitment, collaboration with related faculty and staff.
The Ohio University Lancaster Campus is located about 45 miles north of the main campus in Athens and 25 miles south-east of Columbus. Over 2,500 traditional and nontraditional students enroll each semester in Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's degree programs located in Lancaster or Pickerington Center. The salary is commensurate with experience and credentials plus includes an excellent benefits package. This is typically a nine-month academic year contract with summer teaching possibilities and a small stipend for administrative duties associated with facilitating campus accreditation data.
