The successful candidate will have a strong track record or show excelptional promise to lead an independent laboratory, and ideally be committed to collaboration with our clinical colleagues. The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching, although often combined with clinical responsibilities.
Successful candidates will join the faculty in the Department of Pathology, which currently includes a Nobel Prize winner, multiple members of the National Academies of Sciences and Medicine, and many other investigators with national and international distinction. In addition to its outstanding research program, the Department of Pathology is responsible for over 3.4 million laboratory tests and 50,000 anatomic pathology specimens annually, with major expansions in out-patient and in-patient care scheduled for 2019. Our department attracts and trains outstanding graduate students, residents, and fellows.
