Cybersecurity and Information Assurance Faculty
Harford Community College
This is a 10-month, resident faculty position scheduled to begin January 2019; the position carries the rank of Assistant Professor, and is not tenure-eligible. The faculty member is responsible for teaching cybersecurity, information systems security, information assurance, and computer information courses.
A bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems security, information assurance or a related field and a minimum of two years of recent college-level teaching experience in the subject area, or equivalent experience.
Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including, but not limited to:
Demonstrated ability to teach a range of cybersecurity, information systems security, and information assurance courses
Experience in emerging approaches to instruction and delivery of instruction
One or more relevant industry certifications, including, but not limited to, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and/or CompTIA Security +
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in cybersecurity/information systems security course and program development; Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) certification, and experience in teaching using an online Learning Management System.
The ability to interact with students and potential students outside the classroom environment in discipline-related activities, effective communication skills, and a well-articulated understanding of the role of community colleges and their students are required.
Candidates will be asked to validate teaching experience. A teaching demonstration will be part of the interview process.
Salary will be commensurate with education, licensure, and experience.
