Department Head – Kinesiology & Dance

Tenure track, 12 month appointment. Candidates must have an earned doctorate and must have academic experience and qualifications meriting tenured appointment of professorial rank within the department. Candidates with a Kinesiology or similar background are preferred. Responsibilities include: (a) facilitate the professional growth of the faculty, particularly the junior faculty; (b) recruit and support a diverse faculty and student body; and (c) increase sponsored research, private and external funding opportunities for the department..
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in an area comprising the department, and must have academic experience and qualifications meriting tenured appointment of professorial rank. Candidates with a Kinesiology and/or similar background are preferred. The successful candidate will show strong evidence of 1) administrative and leadership abilities; 2) teaching skills; 3) scholarship record in both publications and funded research; and 4) commitment to undergraduate and graduate professional studies and basic instruction programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Foremost the successful candidate will be a dedicated leader, demonstrating the capacities of leadership. Teaching, research, service, and administrative experience in an academic setting. Other preferred qualifications include:
- Ability to teach courses offered by the Department
- Experience in fiscal and personnel management
- Willingness to represent the Department at University and College events
- Demonstrates a commitment to scholarly research
