The Information Networking Institute (INI) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) is soliciting applications for a teaching faculty position at all levels for CMUís main campus in Pittsburgh, PA, and Silicon Valley campus in Mountain View, CA.

The INI is part of Carnegie Mellonís College of Engineering, a Top Ten engineering school as ranked by U.S. News and World Report. The INI offers technical, interdisciplinary masterís degree programs in information networking, information security and mobility. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of these fields, the INI collaborates with several departments in the College of Engineering, the School of Computer Science, the Tepper School of Business and the H. John Heinz III College in order to equip students with advanced knowledge in technology as well as a disciplined foundation in business management and policy. INI students have the unprecedented flexibility to take courses across all of these reputable colleges.

We are seeking faculty candidates in our core technical areas of networking and mobility, including but not limited to: mobile computing, embedded systems, wireless, big data, machine learning and the internet of things. Outstanding candidates in other areas related to networking and mobility are encouraged to apply. Faculty on the teaching track have a primary responsibility of designing and leading courses and projects for INI students and typically teach two or three courses per semester. They may also have additional research and service responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching a diverse student population. The position is open to individuals who hold a Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or closely related fields. Depending on a candidateís teaching history and qualifications, positions will be offered at the appropriate level: assistant, associate, or full teaching professor.
