Job Description

Tenure-Track Faculty, Open Rank
Loma Linda University

Loma Linda University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Women and individuals from diverse backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be supportive of the LLU mission statement (llu.edu/central/mission), and preference will be given to members of the Seventh-day Adventist church. The position is pending budgetary approval.

Background: Loma Linda University is a nationally ranked private Christian health science university listed in The Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Great Colleges to Work For.” LLU is one of the main healthcare institutions in the Inland Empire in Southern California and the flagship of a system of hundreds of healthcare institutions worldwide. As a Seventh-day Adventist Health Sciences University, LLU offers over 100 programs for 4500 trainees in all aspects of healthcare. As we expand our doctoral programs, we are recruiting new faculty with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring, and who share in our aspiration to train exceptional clinical psychologists for the new health care environment.

The School of Behavioral Health’s Department of Psychology includes APA-accredited Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs in clinical psychology https://behavioralhealth.llu.edu/academics/psychology. The city of Loma Linda is America’s only “Blue Zone” of longevity and is conveniently situated near mountains, beaches, downtown Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and San Diego.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Responsibilities: The applicant is expected to build a research program and publication track record, mentor doctoral students, and teach at the graduate level. We are interested in candidates with a specialization in quantitative psychology and are open to any area of research. Research interests in child, health, and/or neuropsychology are advantageous. Due to our partnerships across several health specialties on our campus, we offer the opportunity for applicants to develop a multidisciplinary research program. The department is particularly interested in candidates who would like to teach graduate level statistics and psychometrics. All applicants must hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. If the degree is in clinical psychology, it should be from an APA-accredited program (including an APA-accredited internship) and the applicant should be license-eligible in the state of California.

Information and Application Process Instructions

Applicants should submit a PDF file containing a formal letter of application (specifically addressing how you meet the qualifications and can fulfill the responsibilities described in this position announcement), a full curriculum vitae, 2 samples of research publications, and 3 letters of reference after the initial screening interview to: Kelly R.
