The Department of Cell Biology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology (CMMB) within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Florida, one of only three preeminent Florida Universities, is seeking applications for multiple 9-month appointment tenured faculty positions at the rank of Full Professor. Broad areas of research strengths in our department include bacterial pathogenesis, genome integrity, stress response, cellular signaling, structural and computational biology, as well as new strengths in lipid signaling and lipidomics. The department is fast-growing with extensive interdisciplinary collaborations whose faculty make significant contributions to USF’s mission of research and innovation through basic and translational research.
The department offers outstanding laboratory space, as well as a competitive salary and start-up package for the successful candidates. Opportunities for collaboration exist across the USF campus, including the USF Colleges of Medicine, Public Health, and Engineering, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, the Johnnie B. Byrd Sr. Alzheimer's Institute, the Departments of Chemistry and Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Center for Biological Defense, and the Center for Drug Discovery and Innovation.

All candidates should have a Ph.D. degree, a strong and consistent record of high impact publications in their area of specialization, and a proven track-record of extramural funding, including currently active grants. All candidates will be expected to contribute to the education and mentoring of undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers. Candidates whose research programs span multiple departmental focus areas are particularly encouraged to apply.
