Description/Job Summary

  • Direct the activities of subordinate staff in the coordination and management of project functions and activities

  • Formulate programs plans, and internal policies and procedures as needed for efficiency, effectiveness and compliance

  • Evaluate employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques

  • Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees

  • Ensure proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained

  • Identify staff development and training needs and ensure that training is obtained

  • Supervise all student award processing including the verification of student information and the determination of student eligibility

  • Working closely with the Director to maintain a professional environment with appropriate internal and external audits

  • Closely coordinate communication, customer service and teamwork environment

  • Review current practices and make recommendations to enhance overall automation of office processes and procedures

  • Stay current of federal and state regulations and institutional policies

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the BCCC financial aid policies and procedures

  • Counsel students and parents on student eligibility and the various financial aid programs available

  • Work closely with other campus offices and outside constituencies to resolve students’ financial aid issues

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting , or related degree.

  • Five years related experience including

  • One year of supervisory experience

  • Knowledge of, and ability to implement, federal, state and institutional financial aid programs, laws and regulations

  • Knowledge of FISAP/ FISCOP reporting requirements

  • Knowledge of individual appraisal, including interviewing and advisement techniques

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office suits as well as specialized hardware and software

  • Ability to plan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinate staff

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • Ability to gather, compile and analyze data and prepare report
