Faculty Fellow in US History
The Department of History at Colby College in Waterville, Maine invites applications for a one-year Faculty Fellow in nineteenth century US History, beginning September 1, 2019.
We seek a scholar whose teaching and research considers such broader processes and concepts as industrialization, migration, class, race, and gender. The successful candidate will help engage students in finding new corners of history and in broadening the curriculum, and who will bring to the classroom experiences, identities, and ideas that resonate with a diverse student body. Candidates should demonstrate potential to be innovative, effective, and inclusive teachers. We shall give particular weight to candidates who have successfully designed and taught their own courses. PhD preferred, although ABD will be considered. The teaching load is four courses for the year.
