Teaching and Learning Librarian (Two Positions Available)
Located 36 miles east of Atlanta on Emory’s original campus in Oxford Georgia, Oxford College of Emory University invites candidates to apply for two Teaching and Learning Librarian positions. We seek enthusiastic individuals with proven teaching and technology skills to work with the library’s instruction program to develop and deliver innovative, quality services for the Oxford College Library (http://oxford.library.emory.edu/). We are expanding the number of teaching librarians to support the new college curriculum which includes Discovery Seminars with information literacy as a key outcome. In addition to the Discovery Seminars, the librarians will partner with faculty to integrate information literacy into courses across the disciplines.
The successful candidates for these positions will develop innovative instruction and learning opportunities, modules, and programs to assist first- and second-year students in building important information literacy abilities. Librarians play an integral role in support of the College’s inquiry-driven curriculum in collaboration with other teaching librarians and faculty. Candidates should be comfortable with current and evolving information technologies, including the development and implementation of flipped classroom techniques and tools. Librarians will, based on interest and expertise, support other library initiatives, such as digital projects, collection development, outreach, and assessment. Librarians are active members of internal library teams, College and University groups, and have the opportunity to participate in professional organizations.
One of Emory University's four schools partnering in undergraduate education, Oxford College provides 950 first- and second-year students of high academic profile an intensive liberal-arts program for the first two years of their Emory bachelor’s degree. We are interested in candidates with a commitment to working with a remarkably diverse student body in an inclusive learning community. Applications from women and historically underrepresented minorities are particularly welcome.
