Summary of the position's responsibilities:
- Creates or acquires cataloging for all formats, including original and copy cataloging for all library materials for the Bard Library and all off-campus sites;
- Ensure the integrity of the online catalog, revise complex bibliographic records, and amend materials formats in the online catalog;
- Develops cataloging policies, standards, objectives, and procedures for the Technical Services area;
•Participates in the planning and implementation of library system enhancements and revisions;
•Assembles prepares and compiles statistical data on the size and growth of the collection;
•Improve student access to relevant library materials by planning and implementing collection weeding and inventory projects in conjunction with the Coordinator of Collection Services
•Researches and recommends appropriate materials to the Coordinator of Collection Services;
•Ensure materials are received, invoices are paid, and resolve payment issues with vendors, BCCC Accounts Payable, Purchasing Departments, Central Receiving, and the Mail Room;
•Compute and monitor budget balances of Library materials funds;
•Supervise, train and coordinate the activities of the Technical Services Assistant and student workers assigned to Technical Services;
•Plans coordinates, and implements the annual book sale for the libraries;
•Other related duties as assigned.
