We embrace diversity through our inquiry-based teacher education program that focuses on inclusive education while demonstrating our emphasis on indigenizing and internationalizing across the Werklund School of Education.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), the Dean leads the strategic direction of the Werklund School to ensure program and academic excellence, effectively deploy resources and inspire colleagues. A high-profile community leader and passionate advocate, the Dean builds relationships with government, corporate leaders, school boards, partners, and donors. The Dean also promotes academic and research activities and a participatory culture through collaboration, interdisciplinary and innovation between colleagues and with our partners in education.

Through our Eyes High vision we have fundamentally transformed the University of Calgary. We have raised our global profile, enhanced the quality of undergraduate and graduate education, promoted innovation and excellence in scholarly activity, and provided significant returns to the community and economy both locally and beyond. Job Requirements

The ideal candidate is a visionary, collaborative leader and distinguished scholar with a notable track record in teaching, research excellence and community engagement.

The successful candidate will have a PhD, EdD or equivalent professional qualification with academic experience commensurate with an appointment With Tenure at the rank of Professor, and extensive practical and administrative experience including experience in donor engagement and fund development.


Information and Application Process Instructions

The University of Calgary’s comprehensive benefits and pension program is designed to promote a productive level of health and well-being to staff members through coverage for health, dental, life insurance, income protection for disability, and retirement income planning. The salary range for this position is $167,000 to $284,000 per annum and will be negotiated based on the candidate’s skills and experience.
