The School of Nursing at The University of Tulsa seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track position to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, for the 2019-20 academic year beginning in August 2019. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience, teaching and current professional status. The ideal candidate will teach the equivalent of 6-9 credit hours each semester within the integrated curriculum in the undergraduate nursing program. Teaching responsibilities include content in an area of expertise and supervising students during their clinical rotations. Service responsibilities include work with department, college, and/or university committees as well as student advising and mentoring, taking an active role in recruiting, curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation, and making connections with related programs on campus. The ideal candidate should also conduct and publish research in the candidate’s chosen field that would lead to tenure.
Doctorate in Nursing or related area; graduate of an accredited college/school of nursing current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Oklahoma or eligible to obtain a license; 3 years of clinical experience; ability to communicate with students on multiple levels; eagerness to teach in an undergraduate program; and an enthusiasm for contributing to the university community.
1-2 years of teaching in a BSN program; formal instruction in curriculum, instruction, and evaluation
