The Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University is delighted to announce a potential new position and its search for an outstanding tenure-track hire, with position start date of Fall 2019.
The department is especially interested in the area of Smart manufacturing (a co-hire with the Materials Research Institute https://www.mri.psu.edu/) with a focus on energy, environment and sustainability and with a background in materials, reliability, mechanics, and/or engineering design.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with simultaneous expertise in process physics and manufacturing systems.
Candidates are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program; adopt innovative educational practices as they develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses; advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; and participate in local and external service activities.
Preferred rank is at the Assistant Professor level; however, applications at higher ranks will be considered for experienced applicants with exceptional records.
