Job Description

Tenure-track Assistant Professors - Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy
University of Chicago

The University of Chicago's Ben May Department for Cancer Research in the Biological Sciences Division (BSD) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level with a focus on the interface between cancer and the host immune system. Candidates will also be proposed for a secondary appointment in the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC) (http://cancer.uchicago.edu), with potential interfaces with the Department of Pathology, Department of Medicine, and the Institute for Molecular Engineering. In line with strategic development of cancer research at the University of Chicago, we anticipate that such investigators would carry out research in areas such as innate and adaptive immunity to tumors, oncogenic events that impact on host immunity, and development of novel therapeutic interventions that capitalize on defining of immune escape mechanisms. Appointed faculty will join a dynamic team of investigators affiliated with our Immunology and Cancer Program, which spans basic immunology, in vivo anti-tumor immune model systems, and translational immunotherapy trials. Faculty also have access to state-of-the-art core facilities and to outstanding graduate students affiliated with numerous degree-granting programs in the biological and physical sciences. Equally, faculty members are expected to engage in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.

At University of Chicago, we are a community of scholars, clinicians, teachers, and students. We believe that a multiplicity of voices makes us stronger. To solve the complex problems in science and health we embrace diversity and inclusion in a serious way. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
