Associate Research Scientist position.
The Associate Research Scientist will be responsible for leading research efforts on layered heterostructures of two-dimensional materials within Columbia’s Center for Programmable Quantum Materials (Pro-QM). This will primarily consist of assembling heterostructures of two-dimensional semiconductors with twist angles between layers, patterning electrical contacts, and measuring their electrical transport properties at low temperature under applied magnetic fields.
The Associate Research Scientist will analyze the data obtained and write refereed journal papers based on this work. In addition to the primary responsibility, the Associate Research Scientist will also be responsible for coordinating the effort of postdoctoral scholars and PhD students involved in Pro-QM research, including organizing periodic team meetings.
Performs related duties as requested.
PhD in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or related field.
At least 5 years experience in the study of two-dimensional materials.
Expertise in low-temperature electronic transport measurements.
Strong record of scientific publications in high-impact refereed journals.
Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
