Writing Lab Specialist - Job #2656
Pensacola State College

The Writing Lab Specialist is a full-time professional/managerial position. The Writing Lab Specialist will tutor students in reading and writing across the district and online as needed and assigned by the Writing Lab Supervisor. The successful candidate will deliver a range of grammar and writing workshops to students and create and maintain materials as needed, including diagnostic instruments, remediation materials, and grammar and writing resources. Additionally, the Writing Lab Specialist will provide training to tutors to ensure consistency of services, assist with data collection, and contribute to the Writing Lab’s presence on social media. This position reports to the Department Head, English and Communications.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in English or a related field is required. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer experience tutoring in a lab setting; experience teaching and/or tutoring developmental English courses; and experience using educational software and instructional technology.

SALARY RANGE: $31,000.00 - $35,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable.)
