Job Description

Department of Business Faculty
D’Youville College

Department of Business Faculty

The D’Youville Department of Business invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning August 1, 2019.

We seek candidates who possess the requisite education and experience to instruct courses primarily in the topic areas of accounting and corporate finance but who are also able and willing to instruct other traditional undergraduate and graduate-level business courses.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can provide evidence of prior teaching at the college level, who have shown an aptitude for scholarship, and who embody the necessary experience/skill set to instruct online courses that meet Quality Matters standards.

The teaching load is four courses per semester.

Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will teach courses as assigned, represent the Department of Business on academic committees, maintain an active research agenda, contribute to curriculum development, provide mentorship and academic advisement to students, and provide service to the college and community.

D’Youville is a small private liberal arts college located on the beautiful banks of Lake Erie in Buffalo, NY. Nestled near the base of the Peace Bridge (that connects New York to Canada), D’Youville has been educating the leaders of tomorrow since 1908.

D’Youville is deeply committed to the idea of diversity as a relational variable (how one may be different from another), and all who work at D’Youville are committed to creating an inclusive, student-centered learning community where difference is recognized in all its forms. To this end, women, racial and ethnic minorities, divergent thinkers, and other underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Job Requirements

The most desired candidate will hold a PhD or advanced certification (e.g., CFP, CPA). The minimum qualification is an earned MBA at time of hire.

D’Youville is known for its strong academic programs, its rich campus life, and its commitment to student engagement and success.

Residing in a vibrant urban environment, it offers more than 40 programs (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral studies, advanced certificates) and provides traditional day course offerings as well as accelerated night, weekend, off-campus, and online programs.

Information and Application Process Instructions

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States to be considered.

As implied above, D’Youville is an Equal Opportunity Employer with a strong commitment to fostering a diverse community based on the fundamental tenants of inclusion and equity. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, gender identity, age, creed, national original, religion, familial status, military status, pregnancy, predisposing genetic characteristics, or sexual orientation.

To be considered, applicants must submit the following:

  • A current curriculum vitae;
  • A statement of teaching philosophy;
  • A statement (and evidence, if available) of research interests;
