Pensacola State College

The Microcomputer Specialist position is a full-time professional position. The successful candidate will provide hardware and software support throughout the college district. The equipment to be serviced includes over 3,000 workstations with Windows 7 through 10 and Mac OSx, classroom technology support, mobile devices, printers, and other peripheral technology. The support service will include computer and peripheral installation, repair and maintenance, network connectivity, diagnose and repair Dell desktops and laptop computers, all brands of printers, basic application troubleshooting issues and software support for MS Office and Adobe products. This position reports to the Microcomputer Support Coordinator.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree, and one-year experience supporting networked microcomputers in a large enterprise computing environment. Progressively responsible experience in supporting microcomputers may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer advanced experience and knowledge of Windows 7 through 10, Macintosh OSx, Apple iOS, and Android computing platforms; familiarity with active directory and PowerShell; experience with technical field support in an enterprise environment; and CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent certification.

SALARY RANGE: $31,000.00 - $35,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable.)
