Director of the Nursing Program
Position overview: You will work in collaboration with our hospital clinical partner to develop a futuristic nursing program that addresses the critical nursing needs of Indiana—with a balance between both rural and urban health. Starting with programs at the baccalaureate level, we believe the right person will be in a position to make a major impact on the future direction of nursing in the Northeast Indiana region.
The Nursing Program Director reports to the Vice President for Health Science Initiatives. The Director holds responsibility for the development of Manchester’s new nursing program, providing strategic leadership while working in support of the university mission.
Essential job functions: Work with the Indiana Board of Nursing and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to ensure compliance with all statutes and regulations pertaining to new program development.
Develop, oversee and administer all aspects of the new baccalaureate nursing program. These responsibilities include:
- Developing the annual budget
- Overseeing curriculum development and implementation on both our Fort Wayne and North Manchester campuses
- Building new partnerships with hospital and community leaders
- Scheduling classes
- Hiring and building a dynamic faculty
- Encouraging faculty professional development
- Creating a collegial and supportive departmental culture that promotes teamwork, a highly engaged faculty and a positive esprit de corps.
- Developing a culture of student success throughout the program, culminating in graduates confident as they prepare to take the NCLEX.
Work schedule: This is a full time, 12 month, exempt, staff position with faculty rank, with a weekly work schedule that will regularly exceed 40 hours and often include evening and weekend responsibilities as well as occasional travel.
Salary range: $120,000 - $130,000
