California University of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of Tenure Track Faculty in Strategic Management (#11034) in the Department of Business and Economics to begin August 2019. Job Summary / Basic Function: Duties will include teaching 12 credit hours per semester introductory and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in management, strategy and international business; developing courses and programs related to this area; advising undergraduate and graduate students; assisting with accreditation and assessment of student learning; demonstrating effective and engaging teaching; and engaging in scholarly and professional activities (such as seeking external funding to support research interests, scholarly presentations, peer-reviewed publications, etc.)

RANK & SALARY: This is a tenure-track faculty appointment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with academic preparation and experience. An excellent fringe benefits package is included.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT must be capable of and committed to effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities, continuing scholarly growth, and service contribution to the University and communities. Also, the successful applicant will have experience working with diverse populations.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES include involvement with departmental, college-wide, and university committees. Also, in accordance with the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and APSCUF, the successful applicant might be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites, in the evening/weekend college and/or provide instruction through online and/or other distance education methods.

Job Requirements

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: The successful candidate will be able to document teaching effectiveness focused on student engagement and demonstrate research potential through such evidence as an ongoing research program, professional conference presentations and proceedings, and peer-reviewed publications. Preference will be given to candidates able to engage in collaborative research with other faculty. Practical experience in community involvement, including consulting with businesses, entrepreneurs, governments, etc. will be viewed favorably. Ability to obtain external funding for research and/or projects aligning with the mission and strategic plan of Cal U and enhancing the programs of the College and Department is desired.

In addition to the aforementioned requirements, in order to be a leading applicant in this search the applicant minimally must be fluent in the English language, be able to communicate well, demonstrate outstanding potential for excellence in teaching through a successful interview and/or classroom demonstration and be experienced in the use of innovative curricular approaches that are student-centered, inquiry-based, and hands-on oriented.

Minimum of Education / Training: An earned doctoral degree from a research-based program in management or very closely related area from an AACSB- or ACBSP-accredited university is required. Relevant teaching experience at the college/university level at time of appointment is preferred. ABD candidates close to degree completion by start date may be considered.
