Clark University’s Facilities Management seeks to fill the position of the Custodial Supervisor Events & Utilities (CSEU). Reporting to the Assistant Director Campus Services (ADCS), the Custodial Supervisor Events & Utilities (CSEU) is responsible for dispatching utility work orders, site preparations, event setups/breakdowns and concurrent event management. The CSEU will supervise Custodians, Utility Custodians, Per Diem Custodians and student staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage custodial supply inventory, which includes purchasing, campus delivery and maintaining safety data sheets (SDS).
  • Repair and maintains custodial equipment, performs and oversees office moves and the delivery/setup of furniture.
  • Provide coverage for other Custodial Supervisors and is responsible for the work of others including conducting custodial inspections, approving time, and providing basic custodial coverage as needed.
  • Supervise, and participate in the set-up, and breakdown of university events
  • Coordinate moving projects
  • Manage custodial inventory including: event materials (tables, barrels, signs, post, spree day boards, etc.), custodial supplies & equipment, and residential furniture
  • Respond to and manage work order requests
  • Respond to facility emergency situations
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings
  • Cover in the absence of other Custodial Supervisors
  • The CSEU will perform the requirements of a Utility Custodian
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years’ professional experience with commercial or institutional cleaning and/or facility maintenance with at least 1 year experience in a supervisory position
  • Possess and maintain a Massachusetts driver’s license.
  • Must have the ability to operate a fork truck (1C license preferred).
  • Ability to work alone without supervision.
  • Proficient in computer applications, such as Word, Excel, CMMS, Email (Outlook) and common web based applications.
  • The ability to communicate with basic language skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to make general repairs of a simple nature.
  • Must have ability to lift 75lbs, bend, stoop and twist on a daily basis; able to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Participate and meet all standards of required training programs.
  • This position is considered essential personnel and will be expected to report to work during emergency closings .and may be required to work occasional evenings, weekends or holidays (including overtime) to respond to University events, facility related incidents or urgent needs.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive, professional relationship with all members of the Clark Community.
