Network and Systems Specialist
Harford Community College
The Network and Systems Specialist manages and administers the network and relevant servers of the Collegeís Public Safety surveillance system; manages the network infrastructure for the College's digital signage; and serves as content manager for Network and Systems Administrationís part of the department website.
Other duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with other network and systems-related tasks including setup, configuration, management and monitoring of systems; installation of wireless access points; restoring files and folders; VOIP environment and power needs; managing the data center operations, including hardware inventory and maintenance; coordinating with ITS staff, students and college employees regarding virus infection, cleanup, and quarantine; patching and port termination; configuring and setting up mobile phones and work desk phones; documenting processes and setup procedures; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
This is an exempt, professional staff position.
An associate's degree or the equivalent education or experience and three to five years of network and systems support experience are required. Related certifications are preferred. Applicants must have a comprehensive knowledge and expertise regarding networking, iSCSI storage, and server software; experience maintaining a surveillance system is preferred.
Applicants should be familiar with using an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system; Banner preferred.
The position requires the ability to lift 10-25 lbs. frequently and 20-50 lbs. occasionally.
