The Department of Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick invites applications for multiple non-tenure track faculty positions to teach courses in Management, Organizational Behavior, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, International Business and/or Business Ethics at the undergraduate and/or MBA level on both the Newark and New Brunswick campuses.
These positions include full-time renewable Professional Practice appointments, as well as part-time non-renewable Lecturer appointments that are intended for current PhD students in AACSB-accredited business programs.
The individuals hired for these positions will be responsible primarily for teaching undergraduate and MBA-level courses offered by the Management and Global Business Department at the New Brunswick or Newark campuses (or both) as determined by the Department Chair. Candidates are expected to engage in service and/or outreach activities for the Department and/or the School as well as in sufficient professional and/or research activities to maintain currency with AACSB standards. The successful candidate for our entrepreneurship-focused position may be offered the opportunity to serve in an administrative role with the Collaborative for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (CTEC). In the role, the candidate will provide support and work with intellectual property producing units across Rutgers and beyond, develop a diverse network of community supports, seek financial support for programming, and embed students in the NJ entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Applicants for the Professional Practice positions should hold a master’s or doctorate degree in the area of teaching responsibility or master’s or doctorate degree in another area combined with significant managerial experience. ABD (all-but-dissertation) is acceptable. Industry experience at the senior executive level at major corporations or equivalent is desirable. Experience with building and sustaining corporate relationships in an academic setting is a plus.
Applicants for the lecturer positions need to be currently enrolled in the doctoral program of an AACSB accredited business school.
Applicants for all positions must have demonstrated excellence in teaching in one or more of the following areas or related areas: Management, Business Strategy, Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurship, International Business, and/or Business Ethics. Experience in online or hybrid class delivery is desirable.
Successful applicants must have qualifications to meet and maintain AACSB standards for faculty currency.
Rutgers Business School is located in the New York metropolitan area and spans campuses in Newark and New Brunswick. We opened new Business School Buildings in Newark in 2009 and in New Brunswick in 2013. Rutgers Business School–Newark and New Brunswick has the leading public MBA program in the New York metropolitan region. Faculty members are expected to teach on both Newark and New Brunswick campuses and are assigned an office on either campus depending on needs.
