The Graphic Design Lecturer position is a one year, non-tenure track faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 2019. This non-tenure track appointment has the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will teach a wide array of design courses, including Computer Graphics I and II, Graphic Design I and II, Typography, Creative Web, and Prepress as assigned. This position requires effective teaching and advising of diverse students; excellent oral and written communication skills; and commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The Lecturer will prepare course plans and materials, effectively deliver subject matter content, monitor student attendance and progress, support activities that foster retention, assess student learning outcomes, and take part in other service and professional development activities as appropriate. Multiple campus, day, evening, and distance learning teaching assignments are possible. This position reports to the Department Head, Visual Arts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a masterís degree in graphic design or a masterís degree in a related field and 18 graduate semester credit hours in field. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer post-secondary graphic design teaching experience.
SALARY RANGE: $35,880.00 - $41,880.00 (for a 9-month contract with a masterís degree.) (Entry level salary is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.)
