Child Development Center. The Lead Infant Teacher serves as lead teacher in an infant, toddler, and/or preschool classroom (children 6 weeks to 12+ months), planning and implementing activities designed to develop a range of social, cognitive, and/or motor skills for individual and/or groups of children within a specified age range, working within a child care center, classroom, or field environment. This position also mentors and guides college students using the laboratory classrooms as part of their methods courses.
- Assesses children twice a year using an age appropriate instrument and keeps documentation on each child.
- Uses early learning standards, curriculum, and knowledge of children's needs, abilities, and interests to develop lesson plans.
- Creates plans which exhibit variety, creativity, use of various resources to fulfill specific learning objectives and incorporate safe and easily supervised playground activities.
- Modifies planned activities to accommodate varying developmental levels of individual children.
- Ensures safety and supervision of all areas (indoors and outdoors).
- The position follows all safety protocol for hygiene and routines including diaper changing, pottying, and serving meals/bottles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation including electronic submission of fingerprint images prior to employment
One or more academic years of experience teaching in an early childhood classroom
