Provide technical support to the informational and reporting needs of the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Assessment (OIRPA) at the University; retrieve data from a server and respond to internal ad-hoc data requests; design program application solutions for data retrieval and management to meet user needs; maintain student databases, retention and graduation files, and faculty and staff files; develop customized reports/tables required for internal and external reporting including those necessary for State and Federal government, regional and professional accreditors; develop and maintain OIRPA website; and develop application reports or reporting techniques, using PeopleSoft and other databases including data warehouse. Perform other duties as required to support other needs in OIRPA.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related field such as Statistics or Social Sciences with programming experience required. Master's degree would be an advantage.
Proven understanding of relational database input, data extraction, and reporting required. Strong working knowledge of PeopleSoft and SQL server is preferred. Proven skills for evaluating and analyzing complicated data and making appropriate decisions and/or recommendations relative to data. Proven ability to adapt to new technologies required. Demonstrated ability as a proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite software required to include Excel and Access. Ability to work independently and evaluate data, assess alternatives, formulate logical and sound decisions required. Ability to pay meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork required. Note: Verification of degree is the responsibility of the candidate.
