Job Description

Assistant Professor of Accounting - Tenure Track
Suffolk University

Located in the heart of downtown Boston, the Sawyer Business School, Suffolk University actively seeks faculty members as diverse as our students. Undergraduate and graduate students come from 100 countries to earn their degrees at Suffolk’s College of Arts & Sciences, Sawyer Business School, and Law School. Indeed, U.S. News & World Report cited the University for having the nation’s fifth-largest proportion of international students on campus—a full 23 percent. Plus, domestic students of color comprise 27 percent of our student body. As our newest faculty hire, you’ll shape their Suffolk experience by serving as an academic mentor. You’ll also help connect them with robust experiential learning opportunities at the top employers that surround our campus.

We invite applications for a tenure-track accounting position for Fall, 2019. Preferred research and teaching areas are accounting information systems and data analytics at both the grad and undergraduate levels. We will consider candidates at both entry and senior levels. The Sawyer Business School is accredited by AACSB-International. Its Accounting Department has supplemental accreditation by AACSB-International. Among the programs offered and supported by the Accounting Department are the BSBA with an accounting major, the MSA, the MST, 4 + 1 BSBA/MSA and BSBA/MST programs, and the MBA with an accounting concentration.

Job Requirements

All candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to scholarly research and excellence in teaching. A doctoral degree (or ABD) is required and professional qualification is preferred.

Applicants should submit a letter of application; curriculum vita; statement of teaching and research philosophy; evidence of university-level teaching experience (if any); evidence of a strong commitment to scholarly research; and complete contact information for three references. Position is contingent on funding.
