The University of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center are offering an exciting opportunity for Director of the UPMC Stoke Institute. The Stroke Institute is a division of the department of neurology and coordinates all stroke activities at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC.
The UPMC Stroke Institute offers an active inpatient clinical stroke service grounded within a multidisciplinary environment that includes vascular neurology, neurosurgery, neurological critical care, neuroradiology and neurorehabilitation. We also have a very busy well-established neuro-interventional therapy program, stroke clinical trial programs, an active telestroke and teleneurology program and both vascular neurology and endovascular neurology fellowship programs.
The Stroke Institute Director will be responsible for oversight of clinical and academic affairs of the division. Areas of oversight include the inpatient stroke and endovascular services at core Pittsburgh stroke hospitals, operations of the telestroke network, stroke clinic operations, faculty recruitment and interview coordination, annual evaluations, selection and oversight of stroke clinical trials, regional outreach, and direction to nonclinical stroke institute staff. Position responsibilities also include teaching, outpatient and inpatient care, research and administrative duties.
